Improved Design of Large Inclination Belt Conveyor

The main inclined shaft of Caoyue Coal Mine (formerly Caoyao Coal Mine) adopts DTC100/35/2×500S 30° large inclination upward conveying belt conveyor, which improves the management level and transportation efficiency of coal transportation and reduces the labor intensity of workers , and obtained good economic and social benefits, but there are also some problems in practical use. In view of these problems, combined with the actual needs of the coal mine, the design of some parts of the high-angle belt loading conveyor has been improved, and satisfactory results have been achieved.


1 Parameters and structure of high-angle belt conveyors

The main technical parameters of high-angle belt conveyors in Caoyue Coal Mine are shown in the table below 1 listed.

The belt conveyor of the main inclined shaft of Caoyue Coal Mine is driven by 2×500 kW, frequency conversion soft Starting device, H-shaped triangular structure transmission device, unloading device, 60° grooved roller frame body, hydraulic deviation adjustment device, ST/S3500 wire rope core pattern conveyor belt, tail weight car tensioning device and comprehensive protection and other components composition.


2 Problems

The following problems occurred during the use of the large-angle belt conveyor.


(1) The hydraulic deviation correction device has many hydraulic components, complex structure, difficult maintenance, short service life, and unsatisfactory deviation correction effect.


(2) Although a patterned conveyor belt is used, there is still some large lump coal sliding down.


(3) During the operation, a small amount of lump coal jumped into the roadway, posing a safety hazard.


(4) The texture of ST3500 steel cord conveyor belt is relatively hard. After running for a period of time in a groove of 60°, cracks appear in the middle part of the conveyor belt, which affects the safe operation of the conveyor. .


3 Solutions

In view of the above problems in actual operation, after on-site investigation, the following design changes are made.


(1) Remove the original hydraulic deviation correction device, and add a set of belt pressing devices composed of flat idlers every 25 m, which are connected to the longitudinal direction of the fuselage with bolts. on the beam. The use of flat idler rollers can control the deviation of the conveyor belt within a certain range, and ensure the troughing of the steel cord conveyor belt. The section of the fuselage after the belt pressing device is installed is shown in Figure 1.

(2) Add a set of coal blocking devices every 15m. The coal retaining device is composed of a coal retaining plate that can only rotate in one direction and a coal retaining plate fixing frame, and is connected to the longitudinal beam of the fuselage through bolts. The coal baffle can only rotate in one direction, which can not only ensure the normal upward transportation of coal flow, but also prevent the coal block from sliding down. (3) Although a coal blocking device is installed, the inclination angle of the conveyor is 30 °, in the process of operation, lump coal still appears to jump from the conveyor, there is a certain safety hazard, so a protective net is designed for the conveyor throughout the process. The protective net is made of welded steel pipe and expanded metal mesh and is installed on the longitudinal beam of the conveyor by means of U-bolts. The structure of the protective net is shown in Figure 3.

(4) After the conveyor belt cracked, the mine and the manufacturer conducted on-site investigations and comprehensively analyzed the reasons for the cracks: the conveyor belt had high strength and hard texture, and the conveyor belt groove angle was large (60°); the idler set was four-roller Group structure, the conveyor belt has less contact with the two bottom rollers during the running process, and it is pressed and stressed for a long time. In order to ensure the normal conveying capacity of the belt conveyor, the belt strength and groove angle cannot be changed, and the extrusion force of the conveyor belt can only be reduced as much as possible to solve the crack problem. The mine is designed to add a flat idler directly below the conveyor belt to support the conveyor belt, so that the conveyor belt is no longer subject to downward pressing force, thereby reducing the probability of cracks in the conveyor belt. The modified idler structure is shown in Figure 4.

4 Conclusion

Aiming at the problems of unsatisfactory conveyor belt deviation correction effect, large lump coal sliding and lump coal jumping and conveyor belt cracks appearing in the actual use of the high-angle belt conveyor in the main shaft of Caoyue Coal Mine, the belt pressing device has been added, Coal blocking devices, protective nets and conveyor belt flat rollers are used to improve the design of the large inclination belt conveyor. After the improvement, the belt conveyor runs smoothly and has stable performance. No other faults affecting its safe operation have been found, and the use condition is good.
