1. The design of the high-speed shaft of the reducer is not strong enough. This usually occurs at the shoulder of the shaft. Fatigue damage is extremely prone to occur due to the transition fillet here. If the fillet is too small, the reducer will break the shaft in a short time. The fracture after the broken shaft is usually relatively flat. When this happens, the reducer should be replaced or the design of the reducer should be modified.
2. The high-speed shaft is not concentric. When the motor shaft and the high-speed shaft of the reducer are not concentric, the input shaft of the reducer will increase the radial load. Temporary operation may cause shaft breakage. During installation and maintenance, its position should be carefully adjusted to increase the bending moment on the shaft. Make sure the two axes are concentric. In addition, there is a special case, that is, the broken shaft occurs in the case of double motor drive. Double motor drive means that two reducers and two motors are installed on the same driving drum. The shaft breakage is more likely to occur when the high-speed shaft of the reducer is designed or selected with a small margin.
